Cory Reeves draws upon sixteen years of active duty military service specializing in aerospace leadership with the United States Air Force to provide the highest level of service and expertise in launch and orbital services consulting. Initially troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing communication, navigation, & penetration aids avionics systems on attack aircraft as a young Air Force apprentice, Cory Reeves learned the value of discipline and astute attention to detail to ensure operability and safety of flight for our aircraft's most complex electronics systems.
Within a few short years of embarking on his Air Force journey, Cory Reeves was invited to join the military's most concentrated space program as a space systems operator with Air Force Space Command in 2007. This new career direction required intense security clearance credentialing and technical training. Following months of space-professional education and training at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, Cory Reeves relocated to the Denver metro region in Colorado to perform global missile warning satellite operations via the Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) at Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado.
As an experienced SBIRS operator, Cory Reeves was assigned a staff position, providing oversight of sustainment and modernization for the SBIRS missile warning enterprise. A year later, Cory Reeves was again elevated to oversee operator certification evaluations through the development and execution of evaluation scripts & simulation scenarios. Cory Reeves would be named the 460th Operations Group Evaluator of the Year for 2011.
In 2013, Cory Reeves volunteered for an isolated remote overseas assignment by relocating to the Arctic Circle to call Thule Air Base, Greenland his new home. As operations branch chief, Cory Reeves led crew operations for the towering Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR) ground-based missile warning and missile defense system. During his 12-month tenure, Cory Reeves' leadership in operations resulted in the detection of 31 space launches and tracking of over two million orbital satellite passes. Additionally, his leadership contributed greatly to the management of five radar system tests and the developmental test and evaluation of the UEWR system software upgrade. Cory Reeves also oversaw the execution of $8 million, including the replacement of $1.3 million worth of critical radar components that prevented severe system degradation.
Following the 12-month adventure in the frozen north, Cory Reeves relocated to the tropical paradise of Hawaii in 2014 to oversee space and missile operations in America's Indo-Pacific Air Force command and control center. During his four-year assignment at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Cory Reeves led six personnel through the integration of space effects into 318 air and maritime missions, contributing to intelligence collection, freedom of navigation efforts, strategic messaging, and multi-national military integration. His expertise contributed to the design of multiple Flexible Response Options for the first United States bomber mission to fly above the Korean northern limit line in 64 years. Additionally, Cory Reeves' oversight of 823 foreign ballistic missile and space launches was paramount to the Pacific Air Forces' execution of perfect early warning through a period of an unprecedented number of North Korean space and missile launches. Furthermore, Cory Reeves guided the safe execution of 1,249 sensitive reconnaissance operations sorties, resulting in 7,000 hours of intelligence, nuclear detection, and warhead re-entry collection.
In 2018, Cory Reeves was selected to be Operations Superintendent for the Global Positioning System (GPS) and reassigned to Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. Throughout his final assignment, Cory Reeves led over 100 officer and enlisted space professionals through the daily execution of America's positioning, navigation, and timing satellite operations in support of over three billion military and civilian users around the globe. His exceptional leadership ensured continued GPS global coverage while transitioning next-generation GPS satellites into the constellation and a sustained global economic benefit valued at $68.7 trillion.
Based in the Colorado Front Range, Cory Reeves resides in the heart of the American space industry with his fiancée, Kaitlyn, and their two dogs. During his free time, Cory Reeves enjoys hiking the Rocky Mountains' beautiful trails and taking to the ski slopes on fresh powder snow days.
